Humdrum, humdrum,

  humdrum, humdrum,

    hum dee dum, humdrum.

Life with the presses,

  the breaks,

    and the shears,

      hum dee dum drum.

Life in this place

with two rooms and a door.

Humdrum dee dum.

Boredom

In naming names of things to loathe,

the word that stays is boredom.

But, being bored, it’s hard to hate,

so all there is is boredom.

    One Monday

The blue turns blacker,

  and the pace throttles down.

The enigma deepens,

the relish tray is not offered,

    and Monday continues to be.
